Well, I’m back. Let me guess- there is no one out there even reading this anymore because you all gave up and assumed I was gone forever. No such luck- and now I have an endless array of uninteresting stories to share that you don’t care about, not to mention scores of mediocre pictures to post.

To start us off though, I will share about our bathroom. Our bathroom that we (oh so wisely) chose to pay someone who knows what they are doing to remodel for us. While I was agonizing over the water cleansing qualities of retention vs. dentetion vs. grass lined swales on the latest registration exam, our bathroom was being gutted to its bones. We had a chance to see the disaster briefly before we hopped in the car and took off for Minneapolis (great timing). But, not before we learned that the floor was rotting out, the walls were full of mold, and best of all- some idiot had used common lamp wire run from the basement to wire our bathroom lights- leaving everyone amazed that we had not burned up in a house fire. Once again, we are really glad we aren’t doing this ourselves!

Right now all we have is a tiled shower, a heated tile floor, and a toilet. The room feels so spacious without a vanity! But we can’t store everything in the bedroom forever, so we will be getting that installed shortly. Craig and I elected to do the painting ourselves, and then hopefully within a week the room will be back together. So far, I am happy with the way it is turning out. And we sure won’t miss the pink toilet, tub and sink- as well as the lovely maroon and grey tiled walls.

A new bathroom, a cheery guestroom- what else could potential visitors to our casa desire? If you are waiting for an attractive kitchen- it is going to be awhile so you might as well go ahead and book a trip!

  1. I can’t wait to see the before and afters. What color are you going to paint? I just picked out a nice shade of blue for ours, although for now we don’t even have any walls to paint…
