I broke in the Le Creuset for the first time last night. I got out my new, um, soup pot (turns out I could handle that much awesomeness after all..) and roasted up a pork shoulder. Which is a remarkable thing in and of itself because I have eaten pork probably less than 5 times in my entire life. I had it in my head that I hated pork, but I think what I really hate is ham.
Anyways, I LOVE THIS COOKWARE. I browned the roast, and softened the onions on the stove top and then just dumped everything else in and popped it in the oven. And then when there was too much liquid left at the end, I put it back on the stove top to boil down. It’s genius! I love it! And if there had been company, I could have just put it on the table to serve out of because it is so darn pretty.
The next weeks menu will now be entirely planned around what I can make in my new pots and pans. With meat and spinach, of course.
